The University of Southern California is proudly hosting the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books this upcoming weekend, April 22-23. I may be a little dorky for being excited, but who cares? Free admission, intellectual conversations, musical performances, celebrities speakers and thousands of books are just some of the reasons to visit the Festival of Books this weekend.
Besides pursuing the endless amounts of books, there are going to be many notable speakers such as retired Lakers player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and renowned chef Helene An. Some conversations do require tickets to be purchased in advanced. The tickets can be purchased for a grand total of $1 for each conversation or lecture. Many popular events are already sold out, but the gold thing is that not all events require tickets. Hooray! There are many open conversations and musical performances for all to enjoy. Just make sure to get there early to secure your seat.
So much to see and so much to do. This is why it is important to plan your visit ahead of time. Luckily, the Festival of Books festival's website is super useful and will let you plan your schedule in advance. To see the full schedule, please click here.
Listed below are some of my favorite events that I hope to attend.
