Museum of Ice Cream

An ice cream connoisseur's dream. Each room decorated and designed in order to celebrate everyone's favorite summer treat, ice cream. The Museum of Ice Cream just opened in the Arts District in DTLA in late April and will remain open until August.

The Museum of Ice Cream migrated from the Big Apple to the sunshine state and is making quiet the splash among visitors. It makes total sense since The Museum of Ice Cream is filled with photo opportunities and Californians love to get to keep their Instagram feed on point.

Dress: Shein

The creators of the Museum of Ice Cream knew that they couldn't please the crowds with just colorful rooms and oversized gum bears without throwing in a couple of scoops of ice cream. During my visit to the MOIC, I a handful of gummy bears, Dove shaped heart chocolate, mochi-covered mint ice cream, a scoop of Earl Grey Biscuit, and ice cream stuffed in between two pink fluffy pancakes. My personal favorites was the mocha-covered mint chocolate chip scoop and the pancake ice cream sandwich.

While the MOIC was tons of fun, try not to get too focused on getting a perfect picture and take in the colorful, imaginative world around you. Try to not get too focused on snapping a stunning pic for your IG feed. It's disheartening to see people actually preventing others from getting their  pictures.

During our visit, my sister and I would wait patiently for someone else to finish taking their picture. This usually worked out well with the exception of the sprinkle pool. The workers at the MOIC noticed that my sister and I didn't get a chance to take pictures since we were waiting for others to get their perfect shot so they let us stay a little bit longer to snap a few. Even with the extra moment that we got, it wasn't enough time to take both of our pictures. So my advice is have fun taking pictures at the MOIC, but remember that others also want to get a good picture. That is just a little piece of my advice to make everyone's trip a bit more pleasant. Plus, it's good not to be so focused on taking that "perfect" shot that it ruins your time on this experiential ice cream journey.

The next city that the Museum of Ice Cream is going to bless with its presence is yet to be determined. My advice would be to sign up for the mailing list ASAP so you could be alerted when tickets go on sale. Honestly, the only reason I got tickets was because I bought them in early April before the craze for the Museum of Ice Cream really began in LA. So to my Angelinos out there that didn't get tickets, I would do the same and sign up for that mailing list. You never know if they creators will decide to extend their stay in LA (again).
