Anti-Milk Ice Cream Anyone?

In all honesty, when someone says this is "vegan," the first reaction from many people is "Umm, pass." While I totally get this reaction, this person obviously hasn't tried the ice cream cookie sandwich from Hug Life in Garden Grove. This company takes vegan ice cream to a whole new level, even meat-eaters won't be able to refuse getting a few scoops from this ice cream joint.

Hug Life is a 100% plant-based ice cream shop. Everything they offer, from the toppings to the cookies, is completely vegan. Their original aim was to provide a late-night snacks to vegetarians, but the company has found much more success beyond the vegetarian and vegan crowd. Hug Life had a constant stream of people coming in to enjoy a scoop of ice cream.

For my ice cream sandwich, I got cookie butterface in between two sugar cookies with a sprinkle of walnuts. Mmmmmm! Mine tastes of cinnamon and it was absolutely scrumptious. My sister got berries ice cream and played copy cat by getting sugar cookies and walnuts as her toppings. While their was a bit of difference between a "regular" cookie and the "vegan" cookie, they were still really delicious. As far as the ice cream is concerned, we couldn't even tell the difference. My sister will definitely be going back to try the rest of the flavors.

To add to the awesomeness of Hug Life, they donate a portion of their profits to a local charity. I mean seriously, how great is it that a local business is donating back to the community. #ShopLocal just became so much more relevant.

All in all, don't let the idea that "vegan" ice cream will illicit a "eeh" reaction because it def won't at Hug Life in Garden Grove.
